DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

Dr Jean McCarthy is a Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour at the Kemmy Business School, University of  Limerick, whose work centres on ways in which to promote a more inclusive and sustainable workplace.

Kimberly Reyes is an award-winning poet and essayist and the author of three books: Warning Coloration (dancing girl press 2018), Life During Wartime (Fourteen Hills, 2018), and Running to Stand Still (Omnidawn, 2019). She has written for outlets including The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Associated Press, The Village Voice, Film Ireland, The Irish Examiner, The Echo Newspaper, RTÉ Radio, NY1 News, poets.org, American Poets Magazine, The Stinging Fly and, The Irish Journal of American Studies. Kimberly was the 2019-2020 Fulbright fellow studying Irish literature and film at University College Cork.

Marian, Associate Professor, Maynooth University School of Business, Ireland, was a Fulbright-Enterprise Ireland scholar in Northern Illinois University in 2017-18. Her research has centred on careers and identity of under-explored populations, including skilled migrants, LGBTs, different generations, and women, where intersectionality is explored.

Dr Melissa Hidalgo earned her Ph.D. in Literature at UC San Diego, with an emphasis on Chicana/o/x-Latina/o/x literature, performance, and queer cultural production. As a Fulbright US Scholar to the University of Limerick in 2016, she carried out research as part of their Popular Music and Popular Culture Research Cluster which culminated in the publication of her monograph, Mozlandia: Morrissey Fans in the Borderlands (Headpress, 2016). Dr. Hidalgo currently teaches classes in ethnic and gender studies at California State University at Long Beach and writes for the James Beard Award-winning food and culture site based in Los Angeles, L.A. Taco. 

Evan Garza is a Washington, DC-based curator, writer, and the co-curator and Artistic Director of the 2021 Texas Biennial. They are 2021 visiting faculty in the MFA in Visual Arts program at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and a graduate visiting critic in fall 2020 at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts). As a 2021-2022 Fulbright Scholar at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Dublin, their research focused on artists from art historically underrepresented communities, both in Ireland and globally, through digital interpretation, public programs, and collecting strategies which emphasize equity and art historical parallels between contemporary global movements for racial and social justice and the history of Irish protest and civil unrest. In addition to working with artists and the IMMA Collection, Garza also enjoyed a 2021-2022 Visiting Research Fellowship with the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Trinity College Dublin.

Dr John P Gilmore is Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems, University College Dublin. His research interests cover the intersection of health & social justice, inclusion health, and sexual and minority health. At UCD John Co-Chairs the LGBTQI+ Staff Network and he is the Chairperson of Leargas, Ireland’s national agency for international programmes in Youth, Vocational Adult Education and Training and Sport. John was a Fulbright HRB Health Impact Scholar at University of California San Francisco in 2023.
