US Awards
The Fulbright Awards provide grants for U.S. citizens to research, study, or lecture in Ireland.
There are five types of Fulbright grants available to U.S. citizens
- Fulbright U.S. Student Awards for U.S. citizens to complete postgraduate research / study in Ireland over the course of 1 year
- Fulbright U.S. Scholar Awards for U.S. citizens to undertake research / lecturing in Ireland for a period of 2-12 months
- Fulbright U.S. Specialist Awards allow Irish institutions to bring U.S. citizens to Ireland for a period of 2-6 weeks
- Fulbright Schuman Awards for U.S. citizens to undertake study, research, or lecturing in the topics of the European Union, E.U. Policies, and E.U.-U.S. relations
- Fulbright U.S. Inter Country Awards allow institutions to bring a U.S. scholar currently in a European country, to Ireland for up to one week for lecturing or collaboration
The Ireland-United States [Fulbright] Commission for Educational Exchange, also provides non-Fulbright grants for Americans to travel to Ireland to study the Irish Language.
- Gaeltacht Summer Awards allow U.S. citizens who are Irish Language Learners & Teachers in the U.S., to spend 2-6 weeks studying Irish in the Gaeltacht.
