Susan Boyle is a drinks researcher and playwright. Her PhD research at the Technological University, Dublin is in Beverage Studies and concerns performance, storytelling and the sensory in immersive drinks experiences. She is supported by a TU Dublin Excellence Scholarship and funding from the Centre for Franco-Irish Studies. Through Fulbright and Cultural Ireland, Susan will commence a fellowship at the Smithsonian Museum of American History, Washington DC investigating the impact of European immigrants on pre-prohibition brewing and distilling in the United States. Susan currently works on the “Spirit of Ireland” an immersive spirits education programme she designed & delivers for Bord Bia to further the reputation of Irish spirits internationally and is the Irish Food Awards Wine Writer of The Year. She holds a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies, Trinity College Dublin & University of California, Irvine. Her MA is in Performance Studies, University of London, Royal Holloway.
