Sophie Ní­ Riain achieved her BA in Irish and English from University of Limerick in 2021. She is currently completing a Masters in Irish in UL, where she tutors Irish to undergraduate students. She has vast Irish-language teaching experience, frequently teaching in Gaelscoil Charraig na SiAºire and tutoring Irish-language classes at a variety of levels to adults. Sophie has a keen interest in research. She completed an undergraduate thesis in 2021, which focused on the language shift in the 18th century. Her MA research thesis focuses on satire in Early Modern Irish. In her spare time, she plays camogie with her local GAA club. As a Fulbright FLTA, Sophie will teach the Irish language and take classes at the Catholic University of America, Washington D.C.
