Síona Molony

Award: Fulbright Irish Student - All Disciplines

Institution: Trinity College Dublin

Year: 2021

Síona Molony is a graduate of Law from Trinity College Dublin. She completed a year-long Erasmus exchange at Sciences Po Paris, living in the Irish Cultural Centre. While at Trinity, Síona was Managing Editor of the Trinity College Law Review, Speaker Coordinator for Trinity Women in Law, and an active volunteer with the Trinity Vincent de Paul Society. She recently completed the FE-1 examinations for entrance to the Law Society of Ireland, and is currently working as a Legal Researcher in the Office of the Attorney General. Síona will be attending Harvard Law School to undertake an LLM focusing on constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, civil rights and legal theory. She intends to conduct a comparative study of constitutional equality jurisprudence in the US and Ireland, examining the response of both Supreme Courts to discrimination cases, and analysing the current law through the lens of the intersectionality doctrine. She hopes that her time in the US will equip her with a deeper understanding of equality law and public interest litigation, with a view to ultimately working in the field.
