Dr. Olena Mazurenko is an Associate Professor at Indiana University (IU). She holds a PhD in Health Care Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a medical degree (specialty: Internal Medicine) from Ukraine, and a master’s degree in International Health from Germany. Dr. Mazurenko’s research focuses on designing effective interventions to improve pain care for millions of patients with chronic pain. Dr. Mazurenko taught global health and study abroad courses (London, UK; Geneva, Switzerland) at the undergraduate level. She also taught healthcare management courses catering to doctoral students. As a Fulbright scholar at Trinity College, she will collaborate with her Irish colleagues to compare healthcare utilization among patients with chronic pain and multimorbidity in the United States and Ireland. Additionally, she will develop a study abroad course to Ireland for IU students and facilitate workshops that guide doctoral students in crafting peer-reviewed manuscripts.
