Dr Mary J. O’Connell is an academic at the School of Biotechnology, Dublin City University. Dr. O’Connell will spend 12 months undertaking research on the evolution of defense against disease in animals to aid a more accurate modeling of human genetic diseases, at the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, Harvard University.
