Dr Lauren Lieberman is a Distinguished Service Professor in the Kinesiology Department of The College at Brockport, State University of New York (SUNY), and an expert in the world of physical activity and sports for individuals who are blind, visually impaired, and deafblind. She earned her Ph.D. at Oregon State University in Movement Studies in Disability. She is the cofounder and director of Camp Abilities, an educational sports camp for children who are visually impaired, blind or deafblind, which has been replicated in over 28 locations around the world. She has published over 135 peer-reviewed articles and 18 books. She is known worldwide as an author, speaker, and consultant. She dreams of a future where children, who are often marginalized, can reach their full potential and thrive. Her Global Fulbright will be devoted to training teachers and families and starting more Camp Abilities programs in Ghana, Ireland, and Brazil.
