Ms Kate Bermingham is a PhD candidate at University College Dublin, where she previously completed a BSc in Human Nutrition and a MSc through research in Nutrition and Metabolomics. Kate was awarded an Irish Research Council Scholarship for her PhD studies, which focuse oninvestigating longitudinal variation in dietary, anthropometric and metabolic phenotypes using a classic twin design. As a Fulbright-Teagasc Awardee, Kate will visit the USDA ARS Western Human Nutrition Research Centre, Davis California. She will continue her research, performing novel lipid profiling techniques todetermine the impact of genetic and environmental factors onvariation inhuman metabolomic profiles.
