Dr. John Helminski is a forensic psychologist who is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the Chief Psychologist of the Forensic Services Unit at Central Regional Hospital in North Carolina. During September of 2022, he completed his Fulbright Specialist project at the University of Galway where he lectured in the Schools of Psychology, Law, and Social Work on forensic mental health topics.  Additionally, he provided seminars at the School of Law at the University of Limerick, and the School of Psychology at University College Cork. He concluded the project by conducting a seminar for The Psychological Society of Ireland. Dr. Helminski’s areas of expertise include treatment of insanity acquittees, forensic interviewing of children and child suggestibility.
