Elisha Myers is a third-year medical student at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Prior to medical school she attended the University of Florida (UF) where she graduated with highest honors. Throughout her academic career, Elisha has also pursed a passion for research, with a summer internship at the National Institute of Health (NIH) and has published multiple articles in academic medical journals. Whilst at UF she was also awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) research fellowship. Recently, Elisha was awarded the Heroa€™s in Medicine Award from Palm Beach County Medical Society for her dedication to providing medical care to uninsured immigrants and refugees in her local area. As a Fulbright scholar, Elisha will be pursuing a MSc in Global Health at the Trinity College Dublin and will focus specifically on ways to improve healthcare globally for refugees and immigrants.
