Chayla Rowley is a U.S. citizen of European and Choctaw (indigenous) descent, Chayla Rowley grew up abroad before finding her way to the University of Colorado at Boulder. There she completed a concurrent BS and MS in Civil Engineering with a focus on developing communities. She then worked for the U.S. Government in the Colorado Rockies to conserve natural resources and to promote civil rights. In her spare time, she engages young women in leadership & self-confidence building activities, volunteers for immigrant & refugee organizations, and promotes & encourages American Indians in the STEM fields. As a Fulbright Awardee, she will complete a MA in Refugee Integration from Dublin City University. While there, she will unite her passions by researching the integration of refugee children via STEM-based activities.
