Mr Carlos Castro is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Ohio State University, where his research focuses on developing DNA-based nanomachines and devices for bioengineering and biomedical applications. He has been recognized for both outstanding teaching and research at OSU, and recently received the NSF Career Award for young research investigators. His Fulbright Award to the AMBER Centre at Trinity College Dublin will focus on integrating his DNA nanotechnology work with other materials in development at AMBER, working towards applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering.
