Annette Fitzpatrick, PhD, is an epidemiologist and Research Professor in the School of Public Health and School of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle. She has devoted her career to research in the field of aging with a focus on cardiovascular disease and its risk factors as well as in dementia and cognitive function.  She has been Principal Investigator of 20 studies sponsored by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) or Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the US, Chile, Nepal, Cambodia and Vietnam. She has published over 220 articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals.  As a Fulbright Scholar she will work with faculty at Trinity College Dublin to develop and offer instruction in public health research operations, facilitate seminars and assist Medical Gerontology students in development of thesis projects, and collaborate on ancillary studies with The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA).
