Andrea Hicks is an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is the Hanson Family Fellow in Sustainability and holds the Keith and Jane Nosbusch Associate Professorship in Engineering Education. Her research focus on determining the environmental impacts and sustainability implications of emerging technologies. Her focus is on emerging technologies as that is when there are the most degrees of freedom to improve their environmental impacts prior to widespread adoption and deployment. As a Fulbright scholar, she will work with the University of Limerick and the the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering on the topic of sustainable batteries for electric vehicles and cascading lifetimes. She will also teach a course in her core area of industrial ecology for students at the University of Limerick.
