DESCRIPTION

Fulbright TechImpact Scholar Awards are research grants for Irish citizens or E.U. citizens resident in the Republic of Ireland for five or more years to complete short-term, non-commercial projects and research in the U.S. for a period of 2 weeks to 3 months. They are designed to respond to the potential and pace of ICT.

The Fulbright Commission is interested in supporting candidates across ALL DISCIPLINES .

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be an Irish Citizen, or an E.U. citizen who has lived in the Republic of Ireland for 5+ years
  • Must have a clear research proposal that demonstrates the pivotal importance of a Fulbright TechImpact Award at this career stage, expected outcomes / impact and an affiliation with a recognized educational institution, research institute, cultural organization, or other approved non-academic institution
  • Leadership qualities and potential are essential
  • Must have a clear understanding of what it means to be a Fulbrighter
  • Must not be a dual U.S.-Irish citizen, green card holder, or currently living in the U.S. and must not already have extensive experience of studying or living in the U.S.

HOW TO APPLY

FUNDING DETAILS

Monetary grant, plus accident and emergency insurance, cultural and professional programming, and J-1 visa administration.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All successful applicants must comply with the two-year home rule, which means that awardees will not be eligible for U.S. residency or a visa until the two-year home rule in Ireland is complete.
