Summer Grants for Undergraduate Students to Study in the U.S.

Friday, 18th December: Undergraduate students are invited to apply for Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for European Student Leaders funded by the U.S. Department of State.
Grants include airfare, tuition and fees, lodging and meals at the host university, a daily incidentals allowance, visa sponsorship, and a range of academic and cultural programming.
SUSIs are intensive, short-term, academic programs that provide undergraduate students with a deeper understanding of the U.S, while enhancing their leadership skills. They consist of a series of seminar discussions, readings, group presentations and lectures. Coursework will be complemented by educational travel, site visits, leadership activities, and volunteer opportunities within the local community. They include an academic residency component of approximately 4 weeks and a domestic study tour of approximately 1 week.
Taking place in Summer 2016, the SUSI for Student Leaders from Europe – Environmental Issues will explore current themes in environmental studies, including natural resource management, sustainable development/ sustainable agricultural practices, food security, ecotourism, energy generation (new and traditional forms), and water management and treatment.
Applicants are expected to be highly motivated undergraduate students from colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education. Students must be between 18 and 25 years of age and have at least 1 semester left of their undergraduate studies following the SUSI Program.
