Dr Jennifer E. Jones completed Masters’ degrees in historical archaeology and maritime studies, followed by a doctoral degree in Coastal Resource Management at East Carolina University focused on coastal archaeology, geosciences, and social policy. Dr Jones specializes in the interdisciplinary challenges to cultural resource management in coastal zones, and will continue this work through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, 2020-2021. In conjunction with the Geological Survey of Ireland and the associated Discovery Programme and CHERISH Project, Dr. Jones will work to develop an archaeological preservation index and report on monitoring and managing cultural heritage sites in coastal Ireland. Additionally, work will include examination of citizen science heritage monitoring and short courses taught in coastal geo-heritage at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
