For a Fulbright US Student

The following institutions have agreed to waive the tuition for a successful Fulbright student on a range of their one year masters programs.  In exchange, their institutions and programs are advertised on the Institute for International Education’s website and in the annual awards book that is distributed throughout the higher education institution system the US.

  • Dublin City University: any one year Masters Program across its three Faculties
  • Dublin Institute of Technology: the MMus in Performance or the MA in Criminology
  • Dundalk Institute of Technology: the Masters of Arts/Science in Music Technology or the Master of Science in Renewable Energies
  • National University of Ireland Galway: any of the one year Masters Programs in the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies
  • National University of Ireland Maynooth: any of the one year Masters Programs offered by Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy
  • Trinity College Dublin: any of the advanced degree programs in the School of Drama, Film and Music; the School of English; the School of Histories and Humanities; and the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures; most programs in the School of Linguistics, Speech and Communications Sciences; the School of Religion, Theology and Ecumenics and some Philosophy programs the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy
  • University College Cork: any one year taught Masters Program in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science and the College of Business and Law
  • University College Dublin: the MA in History, MA in the History of the Media , MA in Medieval Studies and the MA in the Social and Cultural History of Medicine
  • University of Limerick: any of the taught Masters Programs in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
     
Irish higher education institutions interested in offering a placement to a Fulbright US student and or waiving tuition for a successful Fulbright US Student for the 2011 academic year should submit an expression of interest to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. For Fulbright US Scholar Award

Irish institutions interested in hosting a US Scholar are requested to:

  • commit funding towards a scholar’s grant payment if they want to advertise an award in a specific discipline in the annual competition which takes place in the year prior to the relevant academic year
  • co-fund with the Fulbright Commission, if possible, a scholar’s grant payment in the All Disciplines category.  These are in disciplines not requested by Irish institutions in advance of the competition.   Applicants for these awards make contact with Irish institutions seeking affiliation and proposing a program of research and or teaching 
  • correspond with an applicant or scholar about his / her proposed grant activities
  • provide a letter of invitation to the applicant in advance of the annual 1st August deadline
  • arrange the scholar’s office space and access to institutional services and facilitate the scholar’s interaction with relevant institutional and professional colleagues.

For A Fulbright Senior Specialist Award

Irish institutions interested in hosting a Senior Specialist should request further information and an application form from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  As this is an ongoing program, there is no deadline.
 

For A Fulbright Inter-Country Award

Irish institutions interested in hosting a Fulbright US Scholar on a Fulbright Inter-Country Award should

  • request further information and an application form from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • review the List of US Scholars in Europe for 2009 – 2010
  • submit the completed application form to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it no later than 30th JANUARY 2010 for the 2009 – 2010 academic year.
