Understanding SAT Scores

For an overview of how the SAT is scored click into the CollegeBoard website

Students with Disabilities:

  • Special accommodations (i.e. additional time) may be arranged for taking most admissions exams. Please allow 6-8 weeks for the process. For more information, visit the College Board website. For enquiries about taking the SAT with accommodations, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or ring 001 609 771 7137.

Standby Testing:

  • Students who missed the registration deadline for the SAT may take the test via standby testing. To take the test standby, you will go to a testing centre with a completed paper registration form. If students who registered for the exam do not turn up, their places are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. For that reason, we recommend arriving before 7 am to queue. There are additional restrictions with standby testing. Remember for standby testing an additional $43 fee is incurred
  • Please note the Fulbright Commission has provides information as a helpful reference. We cannot take responsibility for inaccuracies. Do not contact the testing site in advance, as they will not know how many standby places will be available. If you plan to take the SAT by standby, we encourage you to ring the College Board to confirm testing centres and dates: +1 212 713 7789.
  • You may request a standby testing form by emailing your name and postal address to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please allow five working days for delivery.
