Inter-changes: Irish Piano Music of the 21st Century |
|
Thérèse Fahy, piano
On Easter Sunday, dynamic Dublin pianist and Fulbright Alum, Thérèse Fahy, will debut a program of 21st-century Irish piano music in Dublin at the Hugh Lane Gallery. This event will officially launch a concert tour in which she will give four recitals on the East Coast of America. The concerts are co-funded by Imagine Ireland and the Fulbright Commission. From the music of Bill Whelan (composer of Riverdance) to that of jazz-influenced Ronan Guilfoyle, the concerts will represent a cross-section of styles from the Irish contemporary music scene: from the traditional to the avant-garde. With introductions to the music by the pianist, this promises to be an exciting tour of piano music from the first decade of the new millennium. Click here to read more about each of the composers.
