Vitaly S. Guzhva is a Professor of Finance in the College of Business of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he teaches Aviation Finance courses. He holds degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Finance as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designations. As a military and corporate pilot, Dr Guzhva has logged more than 5,000 flight hours. Dr Guzhva’s work appeared in various peer-review journals. He is a lead author of the book ‘Aircraft Leasing and Financing: Tools for Success in International Aircraft Acquisition and Management’, published in December 2018. Dr Guzhva’s current research interests include analysis of airline bankruptcies, development of dynamic fuel and currency hedging strategies for domestic and international airlines, and aircraft securitization. As a Fulbright Scholar, he will collaborate with UCD professors and students on researching optimal design and investment performance of Aircraft Asset-Backed Securities (ABS).
