Claire Barrettis graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a joint PhD in Educational Psychology and Human Ecology. Her work utilizes community-based participatory evaluation and research methods to study child and family well-being, particularly through the transformation of school and community food systems. Her teaching and research interests are in the areas of prevention science and health promotion, school and community food systems, civic development across the lifespan, and family, school and community partnerships. Claire also studies the development of college students’ civic dispositions through participation in engaged learning opportunities. As a Fulbright Awardee to NUI Galway’s Health Promotion Research Centre, Claire will use community-based participatory research methods to study stakeholder involvement in the transition to the new Irish school meal standards.
