Dr Brenda McNally is a Research Fellow at the Department of Geography, Trinity College Dublin studying citizens’ views and media use around climate actions in Ireland. Her research sheds light on the political, ethical and cultural dimensions of climate change and contributes to communications practice aimed at building a just transition. As a Fulbright-GSI Scholar, Dr McNally will visit the Centre for Science and Imagination at Arizona State University and the Centre for Science and Technology Policy Research at University of Colorado Boulder to learn more about socio-ecological imaginaries and how they can be used to reinvigorate public engagement with climate and energy policy in Ireland. Upon returning to Ireland, she will continue her work on climate imaginaries by investigating the production and circulation of ideas about energy transition and new forms of promotion in digital media and popular culture.
